Nancy Davidson

STUDIO LHOOQ photographed Nancy Davdison's exhibition Let'er Buck at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. The photographs were published in the monograph Cowgirl (Daylight Books).

Nancy Davidson is a feminist sculptor who works primarily with inflatables and large scale installation. Her work Dustup offers a humorous, absurdist critique of the American cowgirl depicted in popular culture. With this massive inflatable sculpture, suspended in midair and measuring 21 x 16 x 16 feet, Davidson presents the iconic cowgirl as a spectacle to admire, a tall-tale fantasy of western legend.
